This league is available to any combination of 4 members. Teams do not have to follow any set configuration. The convenor of the event will seed returning and new teams into divisions at the start of the year. Returning teams will be seeded using the previous year’s point totals and new teams will be seeded at the convener’s discretion. To be considered a returning team, a team needs to have, from the previous year, the skip and one other player, or the 3 other players minus the skip. Any other combination will be considered a “new” team to this league.
League Format:
- The format consists of 38 teams divided into 6 divisions of 6 or 7 teams each. There will be four 5-night rounds followed by a 5 week of playoff round. Draw times will rotate through the 5:00, 7:00, and 9:00 time slots where possible.
- Each round will be a full or partial round robin where teams accumulate points from wins, losses or ties (See point system below). At the end of each round, all teams will be reorganized and seeded based on their accumulated point totals. Each team will carry forward half of its accumulated points into the next round.
- Division E and F will have byes in the first round (7 teams each)
- Division A and B will have byes in the second round (7 teams each)
- Division C and D will have byes in the third round (7 teams each)
- Division E and F will have byes in the fourth round (7 Teams each)
- There are no points given for a bye.
- Teams with byes will get an average of their other scores for the round added to their total to be used to rank the teams and make the new division.
- In the event of a default, the non-defaulting team skip will choose the outcome of the game.
Point System:
If teams are tied in total points (round and carryover) at the end of a round, the following system will be used to break ties:
- Win/Loss record against each other
- If teams from different divisions are tied, the higher division team will be considered to be ahead.
- Shoot out scores

Late Start/Finish:
- The penalty for a late start will be as follows: After 10 minutes, the non-offending team will count one for the first end & have the hammer to start the second. This repeats at the 20-minute mark. After 25 minutes, the offending team forfeits the game.
- For the 5 pm and 7 pm draw, do not begin a new end if there is less than 10 minutes remaining when the last rock of the previous end is thrown (the clock must read 6:49 or 8:49 or earlier). For the 9pm draw no end will begin once 11:01 is showing on the clock.
- In the interest of safety, the eighth end will be considered underway once the final rock of the Skip with hammer crosses the delivering tee line in seventh end.
Substitution:
- Any team must have at least three players to field a team. Two players on a team must be original team members. In this “open” league, any eligible club member may be used as a spare. The spare must play in the position of the player being replaced or lower, not higher.
- During playoff games, an original team member must throw the final two rocks
Shoot-out must be completed in the first round (skip's responsibility to make sure this is completed)
Instructions below:
Each team member will throw one rock, with sweeping. Rocks stay in play until all 4 rocks have been delivered. Count the scores after all rocks are delivered.
