Rules for the Day Time Women’s Championship
PLEASE START YOUR GAME ON TIME.
PLEASE BE IN THE HACK AND READY TO THROW THE FIRST ROCK AT 1:00 PM
- The Competition will run as a Round Robin with playoffs. Games will be 8 ends.
- The Round Robin shall be scored in order to determine the ranking of teams for playoffs. To concede a game, a losing team must be down by 8 points after 6 ends. The winner gets 2 extra ends, and the score remains the same. Wins receive 20 points and losses 10 points. Ties will be recorded for 14 points to each team. Remember, You must play 6 ends before conceding the game.
- If a team is 15 minutes late, the end is forfeited. The opposing team scores one point and has the last rock.
- The four original team members may change position for any game after the season starts.
- If a team goes on the ice with 3 players, the lead and second play 3 stones each.
- All teams must have at least 2 regular players. Skips knowing in advance that they cannot have a legal game, must attempt to arrange with opposing skip to play the game at other than the scheduled date. Defaults with no notice to the opposing team and the league convenor will result in 0 points to the defaulting team and a win (20 points) to the team available to play. PLEASE - NO DEFAULTS
- All rescheduled games must be played by the last scheduled game for the Round Robin
- There will be 4 prizes awarded
- Trophy winner and second place
- Consolation winner and second consolation
- PLAY-OFFS
- At the end of scheduled play, the top 4 teams will play to determine a first-place winning team and a second-place runner-up team. The next 6 teams will play for consolation winner and second consolation.
- Game 1
- Team 1 plays team 4
- Team 2 plays team 3
- Team 5 plays team 10
- Team 6 plays team 9
- Team 7 plays team 8
- Game 2
- Winner of 1 plays the winner of 2 to determine 1st and 2nd place
- Winners of 2, 3, and 4 will be ranked by the position that they finished in the Round Robin. The top 2 of these teams from the round robin will play off to determine consolation winners and second.
- Game 1
- At the end of scheduled play, the top 4 teams will play to determine a first-place winning team and a second-place runner-up team. The next 6 teams will play for consolation winner and second consolation.
- TIED Games will have each team receive 14 points.
- SPARES FOR PLAYOFFS - Every effort should be made to have the original teams for playoffs. Any spare must play in at least one Women’s Daytime League event. The spare must play in the same position or lower than the person that they are replacing on the team.
- The Five Rock Rule is in effect
- Practice at the beginning of the curling season will be scheduled if time allows.
